Job Description
The Capital Investment Project Manager is an experienced project manager who combines an operational approach with effective management. Reporting to the Director of Major Projects and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for supervising project managers and coordinating with external engineering firms to successfully complete the organization’s major projects. You will play an active role in the most important projects and contribute to strategic discussions to define current and future infrastructure needs.
With an excellent sense of active listening, you are adept at identifying the needs of your internal clients, your team, and your collaborators. Clear and effective communication is one of your greatest strengths. You ensure effective priority management, and as an outstanding planner with a keen sense of organization, you easily visualize the critical path of a project and plan the necessary actions while anticipating possible obstacles.
Your natural leadership allows you to rally people around a common goal and implement the necessary efforts to accomplish your mandates. Your rigor and attention to detail ensure that every aspect of the projects is carefully considered.

Main Responsibilities
- Distribute and monitor project assignments
- Review investment requests from the team to ensure they are complete and accurate before submitting them to senior management
- Manage the development and execution of more complex projects
- Ensure continuous improvement of project tracking methodology and best practices
- Recruit, train, and mobilize the team to achieve business objectives
- Develop teams by providing coaching, training, guidance, and the necessary tools to successfully complete the organization’s projects
- Participate, when necessary, in drafting project specifications, researching, and selecting appropriate suppliers according to the projects
- Plan, oversee, and monitor the implementation stages of various projects (schedules, quality standards, critical points, cost control, etc.)
- Ensure regular collaboration and communication among members of different multidisciplinary teams (production, quality control, maintenance, HR, etc.)
- Regularly inform management members of project progress, measure deviations from expected performance and timelines, and propose appropriate corrective measures if needed

Knowledge and skills sought!
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant training
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, including 3 to 5 years in managing multidisciplinary projects in the manufacturing and/or agri-food sector
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (an asset)
- PMP certification (a significant asset)
- Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written
- Knowledge of Front End Loading principles
- Knowledge of Early Equipment Management
- Capable of effectively solving complex problems
- Excellent communicator
- Outstanding planner with excellent organizational skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- Sharp sense of rigor and attention to detail
