Job Description
Reporting to the National Sales Supervisor, the Account and Business Development Manager will manage local retail and wholesale customer accounts, in addition to supporting the US Sales Supervisor in the day-to-day management of American customer accounts. This position offers the perfect opportunity to work autonomously managing local accounts while familiarizing yourself with the vegetable market in the United States.
Main responsibilities
Contribute to increasing the sales of our value-added vegetables
- Maintain sales and strive to increase them while providing the sales team with the support needed to achieve targets.
- Generate category growth through both existing and potential customer accounts.
- Jointly with the sales team (commodities and value-added), define pricing strategy, program implementation planning, or information sharing.
- Build customer loyalty and develop retention strategies.
Manage and develop existing customer accounts
- Proactively create opportunities to enhance sales with existing customers.
- Maximize the impact of your actions on sales, pricing, competition, and prospecting.
- Gather information to develop a market strategy and to manage and plan for the territory currently served and the one to be served.
- Collaborate with the logistics department to optimize delivery routes.
Prospect for customers according to market development strategies and an understanding of competitors’ strategies
- Identify potential customers, visit them, and establish and maintain business relationships.
- Develop territory and customer account plans and coordinate their execution with strategic partners, suppliers, and team members.
Acquire and improve knowledge and skills
- Gain a thorough understanding of the value-added products offered by partner farms in Quebec and the United States.
- Improve knowledge of the market and sales strategies for vegetables.

- College or university diploma in business administration or related field, with specialization in sales or marketing
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working in sales and marketing in the retail or agri-food sectors
- Experience in selling our product category: fruits, vegetables, or perishable food products (an important asset)
- Fluency in French and English, written and spoken, to serve local markets in Quebec and the United States
- Demonstrated strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Impeccable professional ethics
- Good knowledge of Canadian and US geography
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Retail Link or I-commerce
